Abstract
|

|
A case of gastroschisis was observed at the Dept. of Surgery, Chonnam -University Hospital on May 12th, 1971.
The patient was a half hour after birth, male whose chief complaint was protruded hollow viscus including the stomach, duodenum, small and large intestine through congenital abdominal wall defect.
The diagnosis was made by physical examination, and immediated single staged operation was performed by intestinal resection and end-to-end anastomosis with intestinal intubation, gastrostomy and repair of the defected abdominal wall by single whole layer suture after reduction of the protruded hollow viscus into the abdominal cavity.
On the postoperative 21st day, the patient was discharged with healthy condition.
